Psoriasis is a common chronic skin disease that can occur at any age. More than 95% of psoriasis is psoriasis vulgaris. The vast majority of psoriasis vulgaris do not pose a threat to life, but more or less affect the health. The health effects were also mainly the effects of pruritus and facial appearance at the exposed sites, with no significant effect on production activities, but the effects on social contact and social activities appeared to be more significant.

However, psoriasis still has more or less varying degrees of impact on health, especially the other rare types of severe psoriasis other than psoriasis vulgaris. Here's a list of psoriasis that poses a health threat:

        (1) Effects of arthropathy-type psoriasis on health:

In addition to the rash characteristic of psoriasis vulgaris, this type of disease can also present with symptoms similar to those of rheumatoid arthritis. Patients can be related to joint pain, swelling, morning after joint stiffness, limited movement, the course of the elderly will even appear joint deformation. After a long time the joint can be rigid, and can even be disabled teratogenic. X - ray examination shows change of rheumatoid arthritis, but the test of rheumatoid factor is negative, some patients can increase blood sedimentation rate quickly, and can be accompanied by fever and other systemic symptoms. Arthropathic psoriasis has a chronic course of joint damage, which often progresses gradually over time and is not easy to cure. Some patients can appear spinal tetanus, bipedal movement dysfunction, a few patients can also appear finger osteonecrosis.

        (2) Effects of erythrodermic psoriasis on health:

This type often causes systemic damage and secondary infections.

Erythrodermic psoriasis is rare and serious, manifested by diffuse flushing or dark red skin, swelling or accompanied by exudation, surface covered with a large number of bran like scales, may be accompanied by headache, fever, chills and other systemic discomfort, superficial lymph node enlargement, increased white blood cell count. If not handled properly in time, it can lead to death.

Erythrodermic psoriasis may cause systemic immune system disorders and secondary infections. Due to large skin lesions and easy invasion of bacteria, sepsis may occur. Heart failure is caused by increased blood viscosity and insufficient blood volume. Erythrodermic psoriasis can also cause liver and kidney function damage and even liver and kidney failure.

The loss of protein and other nutrients is a common consequence of erythrodermic psoriasis. The skin lesions lost in erythrodermic psoriasis contain a large number of body nutrients, so it is very easy to cause the loss of proteins, electrolytes, vitamins, folic acid and other substances. Hypoproteinemia or hypotrophic anemia can result if skin lesions persist for many years and the whole body has extensive hair.

Erythrodermic psoriasis patients are usually characterized by general fatigue, inability to concentrate, tiredness, pallor, and susceptibility to colds. If due to the incorrect diet and nutritional intake of insufficient will make the above symptoms worse.

Erythrodermic psoriasis is difficult to treat and requires systematic medication. Sometimes, the curative effect is not ideal. Erythrodermic psoriasis is the most serious type in clinic.

        (3) Effects of pustular psoriasis on health:

Pustular psoriasis was classified into localized and generalized type 2.

Localized pustular psoriasis may be prone to relapse, but most of the lesions are located in the palms of the hands, soles of the feet and other localized areas, which do little harm to health. Short-term treatment can usually achieve good results.

However, generalized pustular psoriasis leads to organ damage. Some patients with psoriasis vulgaris will suddenly suffer from high fever, joint swelling and pain, general discomfort and increased white blood cells, and the skin will quickly appear small pustules with a dense size of corn. Pustules join into large, dry hind sends new pustules at hypodermic again, go back and forth, can last even months not subside. Patients with high fever can last for many days, common antipyretic drugs are not effective, the patient's health will cause a serious impact. Especially when patients use a lot of hormone drugs, will seriously damage the body's internal tissues. The disease is often complicated by systemic damage such as liver and kidney damage, and can be life-threatening with secondary infection, electrolyte disturbances or failure.
